A stone of protection, Tiger’s Eye was worn by Roman soldiers when headed into battle. This stone is chatoyant, which means that aligned inclusions cause bands of shining light to be reflected. Chatoyant derives from the French word “chatoyer”, which means “to shine like a cat’s eyes”
