The Planets and Their Meaning

There are several ways in which planetary alignment is important in astrology. Firstly, the position of the planets in the sky at the time of your birth reveal important information about how you see the world, your habits and traits, belief systems, and strengths and weaknesses. Every planet governs some general domains, providing astrologers with insight into how you function and interact.

The Two Luminaries

The Sun : The symbol of masculinity and it represents the father figure. The Sun offers many positive characteristics: dignity, authority, courage, trust, endurance, loyalty, courage, generosity.

The Moon : The symbol on feminine energy, representing the woman from the horoscope of a man, his partner or the woman he feels attracted to, it also represents fertility, maternity and children.

The Inner Planets

Mercury : The closest planet to Sun and the most attuned to it. It is sometimes referred to as the Sun’s “spokesman”. It governs communication and commerce.

Venus : The second planet from the Sun in the night sky and the brightest celestial body after the Moon. It is considered the planet of love, beauty and creativity.

Mars : The fourth planet from the Sun, the ancient god of war, it has an energetic and aggressive influence. The symbolic color
of Mars is red, the color of blood, fire, action and passion.

The Outer Planets

Jupiter : In Roman mythology, Jupiter is the guardian, the King of Gods. Planet Jupiter is also known as the planet of royalty, culture, philosophy, luck and optimism.

Saturn : Governs ambition, career, motivation, authority, and instills a sense of duty, responsibility, and discipline. Saturn presents a series of obstacles necessary for our development in every aspect.

Uranus : Symbolizes freedom and independence. This planet governs all the unexpected things, it is the planet of surprises.

Neptune : A planet of imagination, dreams, illusion and deception. It offers inspiration and the ability to look beyond one's own eyes.

Pluto : The planet of rebirth, regeneration, transformation. Pluto symbolizes all things that are occult, spiritual, unconscious, as well as sex and death.
